JOURNEY TO THE TOP

The organisation of Arkas Logistics is continuing apace and it is expected to be at service by the end of June 2002. Arkas Logistics aims to meet with a perfection level for all the logistics requirements of our producers, importers and exporters, and in particular Arkas' current clients. The company's infrastructure will be completed soon. The decoration of a six floor head office building in Kavacik, Istanbul, is almost complete. The lower floor of the building, which is easily accessible from the TEM motorway, will be used as a car park area for clients. The Arkas Art Gallery on the ground floor will be used to exhibit the works of amateur and professional Turkish artists. The gallery will also incorporate an exhibition space for the functions of other Arkas Companies. The top floor of the building has been designed as a cafeteria for the company employees, who will be able to enjoy a superb view of Bosphorus while having lunch. This floor will also house a training room with a capacity of 50 people, which will not only be at the service for Arkas Logistics, but also for all the group companies. The training room will be equipped with the very latest technology.

The staff of Arkas Logistics has been developed using the principles of modern human resources management: in other words, all the qualities fundamental to success, such as knowledge, experience, team psychology and performance, have been meticulously assessed. Equipment and software specific to the sector have been selected with the support of our data processing department in the knowledge that logistics is about information management. Staff members have been specially trained for its use, and all the necessary investments have been made to ensure the flawless functioning of the company's communications infrastructure. In the belief that information constitutes the most valuable investment in the modern age, Arkas Logistics has begun extensive market research in those sectors to which we shall be providing services. This research will corroborate our vision of the future, our mission, our strategy and objectives. We are also continuing preliminary research and preparations geared towards the distribution centres we plan to open in those provinces with high production and consumption potential. Our logistics services, which are due to be launched in Izmir, Istanbul and Bursa, will cover all the target provinces within a short space of time.
